Sitting with Jesus in the Waiting
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Psalm 27:14

WELCOME
You have watched others step into answered prayers.
You have cheered them on, celebrated with them, and meant every word.
And then, in the quiet afterward, you have wondered,
God, what about me?
That question is one of the most honest prayers you will ever bring Him.
Waiting is one of the hardest things God asks of us, and He knows it. He sees the ache. He hears the wondering. He holds every question you have carried in this season, and He is here, right in the middle of it with you.
This is a sacred space, set apart as a meeting place between you and God. Step away from the noise. Step away from the comparison. Come just as you are, with your honest heart, and let Him meet you here.

A MOMENT TO BREATHE
Before you do anything else, just stop.
You do not have to have the right words or have it all figured out. You only need to show up, right here, right now, and let God meet you in the middle of the waiting.
Sit quietly with your journal. Pause for a few minutes after each question, and if you hear anything, write it down. Do not question it. Just write it down.
What would it feel like to lay this down, even for just this moment?
What are you most afraid He is not going to answer?
Where have you seen Him move in your story before, and can you find Him there again right now?
Listen. Wait. Receive.
REFLECTION
Waiting is not wasted time.
It is the soil where trust takes root. It is the quiet where God does some of His deepest work, not just preparing what is ahead, preparing you.
Strength is forming. Faith is deepening. Compassion is growing. Something new is taking shape in you, even now, even here, even in the silence.
The woman on the other side of this season will look back and recognize that He was never silent. He was speaking in ways she had not yet learned to hear.
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31

CONTINUE THE JOURNEY
If something on this page has stirred your heart, there is more waiting for you.
The In the Waiting seven-day guided journal was created for the woman who is still in the middle of the waiting, not yet on the other side of it. Each day includes a reflection, a journal prompt, and a prayerful pause to help you bring your whole heart to God and let Him meet you there.

A CLOSING PRAYER
God of hope,
pour Your joy into my weary heart.
Flood me with peace as I trust You.
Teach me to place my hope in You,
not in what I see or feel.
When disappointment tries to close my heart,
remind me of Your faithfulness.
I choose to stay close to You in this waiting.
I believe You are still working.
Amen.
